Los Angeles-based pianist Timothy Durkovic is a distinguished soloist and chamber musician renowned for his collaborations with some of the world’s most esteemed instrumentalists and vocalists. His remarkable partnerships include luminaries such as Lynn Harrell, Martin Chalifour, Andrew Sords, Helen Callus, Movses Pogossian, John Walz, Timothy Landauer, Richard O’Neil, Jonathan Mack, and celebrated ensembles like the Calder Quartet, the Miró Quartet, and the Casal Quartet.

A celebrated musician, Durkovic is the Grand Prize Winner of the 1996 Los Angeles Liszt Competition and has triumphed in prestigious contests including the Beverly Hills Auditions, the Carmel Music Society Competition, the 2001 San Diego Duo Piano Competition, and the 2001 IBLA Grand Prize Duo Award in Sicily, alongside his duo partner Chie Nagatani. He was also honored with the Outstanding Master’s Graduate Award from the USC Thornton School of Music. His academic contributions include serving as the Director of Keyboard Studies at Long Beach City College and teaching at the Orange County High School of the Arts, the University of La Verne, and USC Thornton. 

Durkovic is a sought-after presence at chamber festivals both nationally and internationally, showcasing his artistry at events like the High Desert Chamber Music Festival in Bend, Oregon, Festival BRAVISSIMO in Guatemala, and ProMusica in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. He has also been featured as a headline entertainer on prestigious cruise lines including Crystal Cruises, Regent Cruises, and Hapag Lloyd Cruises.

Critics have praised his performances for their “sensitivity to colors” (Salt Lake City Tribune) and described his style as “effortless, with the music always in the forefront, and an overall effect…of music making that is too rarely heard” (Frederick Swann). His acclaimed CD recording “Gargoyles,” available on iTunes, received high praise from composer Lowell Lieberman, who lauded it as “an incisive and exciting performance.” Durkovic has also arranged and performed music for advertising campaigns for high-profile clients, including Christina Aguilera and Dignity Health.

Originally from Guatemala, Mr. Durkovic honed his craft at the National Conservatory of Guatemala, the Juilliard School, Salem College, and the USC Thornton School of Music.
